Well we leave Thursday in the AM. We had to change some plans like for instance going to see the Lion King but we will have so much fun.
I can't wait we just packed and I couldn't be more excited. I'm also nervous but that is completely understandable. So so so excited. Check back for updates. I may be posting while we are gone or I may post several updates when we get back.

WE DID IT!!!!
We saved up enough to go to New York City. Our friend has agreed for us to crash with her and we have made many plans. We booked our flights and couldn't be more excited.
First things we plan to do on the day we arrive is go see the 9-11 Memorial as well as Times Square. We might eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp in Times Square too.
On Friday we are planning to go see The Statue of Liberty as well as Ellis Island and get our marriage license. Our friend also got us tickets to Ska/Reggae Booze Cruise. We may also go shopping to get Addie a costume for our event Saturday.
Saturday our plan is to participate in the Mermaid Parade and party with our friend. Our night plans are to see one of 2 Broadway musicals. We haven't decided which one yet but either Wicked or The Lion King.
Sunday we will be attending NYC Pride Parade and Event. That is all we have planned for Sunday at this time.
Monday we will be GETTING LEGALLY MARRIED!!!! Then that night we will be attending the 2nd Broadway Musical and hopefully seeing our other friend Jess. Sadly this will be our last day.
Tuesday EARLY AM we will be heading back to our home state. In hand we will have souvenirs, photos, videos and large tired smiles. We will be legally wed in 8 states and be awaiting our paperwork that shows this to the world.
Then we will sleep and get back to our lives as a happily married couple :D.

What's New
So we are still planning our trip to NYC to get legally married, (at least in the states that recognize it). We have put our first bit of money into savings.
Checking airfares and looks like for the 2 of us to fly to NY and back will be between 900-1100. So that is our first money saving goal.
I have also been looking at cost for us to do some things while we are there, such as visiting the statue of liberty, Ellis island, 911 memorial, and Broadway. I would also like to see Central Park, Grand Central, and Times Square. As a movie buff/ future filmmaker these are rated high on places to see. In addition we have to have money to eat and get around.
Also on our to-do list......NYC Pride, with Grand Marshal Cyndi Lauper!!!! This will be such a cool thing to do. Wish us luck on raising the money.

I am going to try to update as we plan our trip to NYC so that you can all see us through as we legalize our marriage.
The Wedding
Well I guess that last month of wedding prep took over my life and then I entered the honeymoon phase and never thought about my wedding blog for that I am so sorry.
Our wedding went off without a hitch really. Addie's sisters were sadly not able to be apart of the wedding nor did her biological mom show up or her adoptive parents or grandparents or aunts or uncles. But the family and friends that did show up made it a memorable event. I have posted the wedding video on my YouTube but will have to repost it as it did not post exactly right. We had a beautiful ceremony and reception.
We are still happily married as we move closer to our first anniversary. The exciting news is that we are planning a trip to NYC for us to get our marriage legalized. That means we will have a small ceremony with the JP or county clerk in NY. There I will change my last name and we will begin our life legally together. We aren't doing a big ceremony. We will have our friend Sarah there to be our witness and are going to go semi-casual for our dress wear.
I have decided to wear my corset top from our first ceremony, a pair of jeans, a simple veil (maybe) and have my hair the desired length that I wanted it last year. Addie hasn't told me what she plans to wear but I'm sure she'll be beautiful.
This trip is going to be amazing. We will get to see some sights that we have been wanting to for awhile as well as possibly see two Broadway shows and hang out with our friend Sarah. We are looking forward to this trip so much.
We had what we considered our honeymoon last September. We went on a cruise to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, Mexico. We went with our friend Jess and her mother to cut the cost of the trip. We went snorkeling in Jamaica, as well as Grand Cayman and Cozumel. In Grand Cayman we snorkeled at a shipwreck and at the reef which was so close you could touch it. We didn't because you aren't supposed to do that. In Jamaica we also visited Margaritaville and this time managed to have some food there. In Cozumel we also did rock wall climbing and zip lines. I have posted video of our time at Cozumel on my YouTube as well. We did Karaoke on the ship and watched a teaching of the thriller dance in addition to just enjoying our vacation.

Another Post
Luckily nothing major happened badly this time around such as problems with bridesmaids or medical. But we did see Addie's college graduation this weekend, April 14, 2011. I am so proud of her. My heart was beating out of my chest as she walked up to the stage and across it to join the ranks of college graduates. I couldn't be more proud of her. It was one of the happiest days of my life.
We did decide that if something happens and the third bridesmaid can't come we will let our friend Sterling stand with Addie. He and his fiancee offered which was so nice. We haven't worked on our on our wedding program but we still have a few weeks. Secondly all of our bridesmaids dresses are in, Addie has her dress pants and we recently bought our unity candle.
We have made a couple of payments on our reception area, paid off our church. We finalized the reception menu including the cake. We have almost all of the church music finalized. We still need to buy my ring, the ring bearer pillow, the flower girl basket, serving set and toasting flutes, flower girl flowers, finish paying off the reception area. We also still need to get my shoes and both of our undergarments. We still have to make our bouqets and flower arrangements and buy our gems for the reception as well as the plates and such for the reception.
I can see the end of the tunnel of the wedding but I also feel like I'm having to make compromises on what I want including to afford a honeymoon and pay for my car that needs to be fixed.
Well not much left to say so until later.

Wow - Too Long Between Posts
Okay Wow it has been too long since my last post. I have reasons I promise.
First I didnt have enough to say for a blog, then I wasn't inspired to write which if you really know me is a problem I face a lot. I love writing but I love writing eloquently. I love to write scripts, stories and this blog but not the same old drab every time so I put off writing it. Then of course life had to step in the way and say ha, effectively taking the time away from me to write. Sure I could have written some but it would have been short burst and all I really wanted to do was lay around as much as possible. See I had surgery to remove 2 of 4 lumps in my left breast. I am fine and they were found to be benign fibroadenomas. They plan to watch the other two lumps.
This was necessary for me to have done because they were large and very painful. But I think they were good for Addie's and my relationship as well. It tested us and we came through swimmingly. See last time I had lumps removed a few years ago I depended on my sister and mom to keep me calm and it went well but this time was much better. Addie really helped me stay calm enough that I was able to get an IV without freaking out she held my hand and talked to me and just reminded me that no matter what happened she was there for me. It was so good to know that I had someone who wasn't family and wasn't required to be there for me but someone who wanted to be there for me because that person loved me without question. I know that when we have kids, if I do get pregnant one day - she will be my Rock in that situation just as she was in this situation and is in our lives everyday. This experience was also good for us in another situation. She had to trust my mom to take good care of me and trust me not to push the limits. I had to trust her to remain cool and not worry about me to the point of it affecting her final semester of school or her work life. We came through those challenges as well, not without a few arguments about not letting her know I was okay and me feeling like an invalid. But at the end of it all we were able to talk these out and I really think we are closer because of the whole experience. It allowed us to see other sides of each other. I love her so much and can not wait until our vows.
So now onto what you really came to read about - the wedding. We have gotten what seems like alot to us done. We have also come across a few problems. First the problems: one of Addie's bridesmaids has backed out for unknown reasons and left a hole in her side of the wedding party. We have found a replacement luckily in our friend Dren barring any complications that could come up with travel plans. Secondly, Addie's adoptive parents have put their foot down and will not be attending the wedding going as far as to say they do not even want an invite. We are sending one anyway so they can not hold it against us in 20 years or whenever. Thirdly her biological mother who we wanted to light her taper candle for the unity candle ceremony has let it be known that she may not be able to attend do to a custody agreement with her ex-husband that would make her get a week less with the children. We understand that but we have tried to bend over backwards to accomodate her. She wouldn't have had this problem if she had submitted to her ex in writing about a change in the custody to accomodate for the wedding. She is not accepting any of our offers to help instead telling us to change our wedding date when we can not do that do to things being paid for and it possibly messing up time for any alterations needed to be made to any of the dresses. Another factor of this problem is that we may lose another of Addie's bridesmaids and a flowergirl. The reason for this is that they are her sisters positions in the wedding and if her biological mother doesn't come neither do they. These are our problems but we also have had some good things happen.
First we finished our marriage counceling and our pastor even gave us wedding rundowns to figure out what we wanted before having our final meeting with him at the end of may to finalize the ceremony itself. Secondly two of the bridesmaids dresses have arrived. We also bought the flower girl dresses and the ringbearers button-up. In addition we bought our wedding cake topper, my dress pants and mailed off wedding invitations. We bought more flowers and have found the flowers for the flower girl.
